The Southland Sharks are a New Zealand basketball team based in Invercargill. The Sharks compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at Stadium Southland. For sponsorship reasons, they are known as the SBS Bank Southland Sharks.
De Southland Sharks zijn een professioneel basketbalteam met spelers uit Nieuw-Zeeland en verschillende andere landen dat uitkomt in de competitie van de New Zealand National Basketball League (NZ NBL). Sinds 2019 is het team gevestigd in Invercargill.
Het team werd in 2005 opgericht in Invercargill als de Southland Flyers. In 2008 veranderde de teamnaam in de Southland Sharks. De Sharks behoren tot de meest succesvolle teams in de NZ NBL, met drie kampioenschappen en drie finales.
De thuisbasis van de Sharks is het ILT Stadium Southland in Invercargill. De ploeg speelt in het donkerblauw en oranje, en staat bekend om zijn sterke thuisvoordeel. De mascotte van het team is een haai genaamd "Sammy the Shark".
