The Akron Zips women's basketball team represents the University of Akron in women's basketball. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Zips play home basketball games at the James A. Rhodes Arena in Akron, Ohio.
Het Amerikaanse basketbalteam "Akron - Dames" is een professioneel damesbasketbalteam uit de stad Akron, Ohio. Het team werd in 2006 opgericht en neemt deel aan de Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). De hemmaren van het team zijn de Akron Civic Theatre en het James A. Rhodes Arena. De huidige hoofdcoach van het team is Cheryl Reeve. De bekendste speelsters die voor het team hebben gespeeld zijn onder andere: Tamika Catchings, Maya Moore, Seimone Augustus, Diana Taurasi en Candace Parker.
