RTU FC

RTU FC or RTU Futbola centrs is a Latvian football club, affiliated with the Riga Technical University. They are based in the capital city of Riga and compete in the second highest division of Latvian football (the Latvian First League) and the Latvian Football Cup. From 2017 to 2018 the team partnered with the remnants of the now defunct Skonto FC, playing as RTU FC/Skonto Academy, after Skonto failed to receive the First League licence from LFF in 2016.

The club did not apply for the 2019 Latvian First League season, possibly due to financial issues.

RTU FC is een Letse voetbalclub uit Riga, die uitkomt in de Virslīga, de hoogste voetbaldivisie van het land. De club werd in 1999 opgericht als Riga Tehniskās universitātes Futbola klubs (RTU FK), en is daarmee een van de jongste clubs in de Letse topdivisie. Sinds 2015 komt de club uit onder de huidige naam RTU FC.

De thuisbasis van RTU FC is het RTU Stadion, dat gelegen is op het terrein van de technische universiteit in Riga. Het stadion heeft een capaciteit van 1.000 toeschouwers.

RTU FC heeft nog nooit een grote prijs gewonnen, maar heeft wel enkele successen geboekt. Zo bereikte de club in 2019 de halve finale van de Latvijas Kauss, de Letse bekercompetitie. In 2021 werd RTU FC vierde in de Virslīga, de beste prestatie in de clubgeschiedenis.
