Fukushima United FC (福島ユナイテッドFC, Fukushima Yunaiteddo Efushī) is a Japanese football club from Fukushima City, the capital of Fukushima Prefecture. They currently play in the J3 League, Japan's third tier of professional football.
History
The club was founded in 2006, by the merger of FC Pelada Fukushima and Junkers. From the 2008 season, the club has adopted the new name as "Fukushima United FC". They played in the Japan Football League, the third tier of the Japanese football league system in 2013. Starting in 2014, they were promoted to the newly formed, J3 League.
On 28 October 2022, Fukushima United acquired the J2 license, meaning that from the 2022 season, they can now be promoted to the J2 League if the club finishes the league season either on 1st or 2nd place.
De club werd opgericht in 2006 onder de naam FC Pelada Fukushima. In 2009 werd de club omgedoopt tot Fukushima United FC. De club speelde van 2014 tot 2019 in de J2 League, de tweede hoogste voetbalklasse in Japan. In 2019 degradeerde de club naar de J3 League.
Fukushima United FC heeft een aantal bekende spelers voortgebracht. Zo speelde de Japanse international Shinji Okazaki van 2005 tot 2009 voor de club. Ook de Braziliaanse spits Edmílson speelde van 2012 tot 2013 voor Fukushima United FC.
De clubkleuren zijn rood en zwart. Het logo van de club bestaat uit een afbeelding van een vuurtoren, die symbool staat voor de hoop en het optimisme van de club.
