Wikipedia - Chungbuk Cheongju FC

Chungbuk Cheongju FC (Korean: 충북 청주 FC), formerly Cheongju FC (청주 FC), is a South Korean football club based in the city of Cheongju that competes in the K League 2, the second tier of South Korean football. They play their home games at the Cheongju Sports Complex.

History

The club was founded in 2002 as Cheongju Solveig Football Club, and competed at amateur level.

In the 2009 season, the club joined the K3 League after changing its name to Cheongju Jikji FC. Before the 2019 season, the club merged with Cheongju City FC.

In 2022, Cheongju FC announced that they would join the professional K League 2 in the 2023 season, and also rebranded as Chungbuk Cheongju FC.

Cheongju City FC is een Zuid-Koreaanse voetbalclub uit Cheongju. De club werd opgericht in 2002 en speelt in de K League 2, het tweede niveau van het Zuid-Koreaanse voetbal.

Het stadion van Cheongju City FC is het Cheongju Stadium, dat een capaciteit heeft van 15.000 toeschouwers. De clubkleuren zijn blauw en wit.

Cheongju City FC heeft nog nooit een grote prijs gewonnen, maar eindigde in 2009 wel als tweede in de K League 2. De club heeft ook deelgenomen aan de AFC Champions League, maar werd in de groepsfase uitgeschakeld.

Bekende spelers die voor Cheongju City FC hebben gespeeld, zijn onder meer Lee Dong-gook, Lee Keun-ho en Kim Dae-eui.
