The Delaware State Hornets women's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
History
Delaware State began play in 1976. They have won one regular season title (2004) and one tournament title (2007). In their first NCAA tournament, they lost to Vanderbilt 62–47 in the First Round.
In the 2021–22 season, the team went winless for the first time in program history, finishing with an 0–24 overall record.
Delaware St - Dames is een Amerikaans basketbalteam uit de Colonial Athletic Association. Het team is gevestigd in Dover, Delaware en speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Memorial Hall. De hoofdcoach van het team is JacKyra Staley.
Het team was voorheen bekend als de Lady Hornets maar veranderde in 2007 hun naam in de Dames. De Dames hebben nog nooit het NCAA-toernooi bereikt. Ze wonnen wel het MEAC-toernooi in 2008 en 2009.
Enkele van de meest opvallende spelers in de geschiedenis van het team zijn Kayla Miller, Amina Dickerson en Nicole Johnson. Miller is de all-time topscorer van het team, Dickerson is de all-time rebounder en Johnson is de all-time assists leider.
De Dames zijn een opkomend team in de Colonial Athletic Association. Ze hebben de afgelopen jaren veel succes geboekt en hopen in de toekomst nog meer successen te boeken.
