The Saint Peter's Peacocks women's basketball team is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate women's basketball team that represents Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey. The school's team currently competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and plays their home games in Run Baby Run Arena. They are currently led by second-year head coach Jennifer Leedham. The Peacocks have appeared in the NCAA Women's tournament seven times. As with the other women's athletic programs of Saint Peter's University, they were previously known as the Peahens.
History
Saint Peter's University is one of the founding members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), which began play in women's basketball with the 1981–82 season. Since then, the Peacocks have compiled the second most wins of any MAAC women's team and have won the MAAC Women's Championship nine times (1982, 1983, 1984, 1992, 1993, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002), the second most all-time. Prior to joining the MAAC, the Peacocks competed in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) from 1971 to 1981 at the Divison II level.
In 2021, led by head coach Marc Mitchell, the Peacocks made a spirited run to the MAAC Championship game after a 19 year absence. They were matched up against their long time MAAC rival, the No. 1 Marist Red Foxes in a bid to win their first MAAC Championship, tenth overall, and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2002. The Red Foxes would go on to defeat the Peacocks 69–30 to win their eleventh MAAC title.
Onder leiding van hoofdcoach Sean Kennedy staat St. Peters bekend om zijn snelle en atletische speelstijl. Het team is gezegend met een getalenteerde ploeg spelers, waaronder Shanai McKenzie, Jayla Jackson en Neila Luma.

Jackson, een senior guard, is een snelle en dynamische point guard die het speltempo regelt en aanvallende kansen creëert voor haar teamgenoten. Luma, een junior forward, is een fysieke aanwezigheid in de verf. Haar sterke binnenverdediging en rebounding zijn cruciaal voor het succes van St. Peters.
St. Peters staat bekend om het spelen van een agressieve verdediging die teams dwingt om fouten te maken en hen dwingt tot een slechte schotkeuze. Het team geeft gemiddeld slechts 56,1 punten per wedstrijd toe, wat een van de laagste cijfers in het land is.
Naast hun succes op het veld staat St. Peters ook bekend om hun toewijding aan academici. Het team heeft een hoog gemiddelde GPA en meerdere spelers zijn erkend voor hun uitstekende prestaties zowel op het veld als in de klas.
Met hun getalenteerde spelers, ervaren coach en sterke verdediging is St. Peters-Dames een team om rekening mee te houden in het NCAA-basketbal. Ze zijn vastbesloten om hun succes in de komende jaren voort te zetten en hun plek in te nemen als een topbestemming voor basketbaltalenten.
