Wikipedia - Chungbuk Cheongju FC

Chungbuk Cheongju FC (Korean: 충북 청주 FC), formerly Cheongju FC (청주 FC), is a South Korean football club based in the city of Cheongju that competes in the K League 2, the second tier of South Korean football. They play their home games at the Cheongju Sports Complex.

History

The club was founded in 2002 as Cheongju Solveig Football Club, and competed at amateur level.

In the 2009 season, the club joined the K3 League after changing its name to Cheongju Jikji FC. Before the 2019 season, the club merged with Cheongju City FC.

In 2022, Cheongju FC announced that they would join the professional K League 2 in the 2023 season, and also rebranded as Chungbuk Cheongju FC.

Cheongju FC is een Zuid-Koreaanse professionele voetbalclub uit Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do. De club werd opgericht in 1995 en speelt momenteel in de K League 2, het tweede niveau van het Zuid-Koreaanse voetbalsysteem.

Cheongju FC staat bekend om zijn aanvallende speelstijl en heeft een getalenteerde groep spelers, waaronder de spits Park In-hyeok en de middenvelder Lee Chang-hoon. De club heeft een trouwe aanhang en speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Cheongju Sports Complex.

In de afgelopen jaren is Cheongju FC een competitieve club in de K League 2 geworden en heeft het regelmatig in de top van de ranglijst gestaan. Het team heeft ook een aantal opmerkelijke prestaties geleverd in de nationale bekercompetities, met name de FA Cup en de League Cup.
